abby was desperate to keep her mother, ashley abbot, from marrying tucker mccall … including arranging for diane and tucker to meet at the abbot cabin the night before ashley and tucker’s wedding by sending false text messages from borrowed phones, then (drunk-)driving her mother to the cabin to prove tucker’s unfaithfulness.  except no one met up at the cabin.  tucker is half way down the canyon, pulled off on the side of the road, searching for cell-coverage; abby speeds  around the bend.  their eyes meet and SMASH! ashley is the only one conscious after the crash.  she switches seats with abby before the cops arrive.
